8-core Samsung Galaxy S5 on the cards, then hidden
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 was announced as running on Qualcomm’s quad-core next-gen Snapdragon 801 chipset, but there will be an alternative configuration – An S5 model running on the company’s own Exynos eight-core processor!
The octa-core S5 was outed in a Samsung-made infographic which has since been amended but not before it was grabbed and passed about online.
When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5, some where probably wondering why only a Qualcomm-based model was shown.
Well, as Samsung was shouting about its latest and greatest it appears that a second version was being quietly announced via this infographic.
As you can see, it plainly states that there will be two variations of the Galaxy S5. One will run the quad-core Snapdragon 801 with a 2.5GHz clock speed along with another model powered by an octo-core Exynos SoC running at 2.1GHz.
The details are still on the light side but Samsung has done this in the past.
There was a Galaxy S4 version that ran the Exynos Octa-core which was designed for and exclusively sold in the Korean market.
I’m not holding out much hope of this 8-core Galaxy landing in the UK.
