Sharp Mebius Pad boasts highest resolution on a Windows 8.1 tablet
Sharp has taken the wraps off its new Mebius Pad Windows 8 tablet. The 10.1-inch display offering a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels making it the highest resolution tablet running Microsoft’s latest Windows 8 operating system right now.
The Mebius Pad’s impressive resolution is still shy of the 4K displays currently cropping up on tablets but it certainly shows Microsoft’s own Surface 2 a clean pair of heels.
Sharp are so proud of its pixel packing screen that they even provided a magnifying glass to those approaching the Mebius Pad so that they could get up close and personal with the display.
The Sharp Mebius Pad is powered by a Intel quad-core Atom Z3370 processor and is both waterproof and dust proof – Sharp is currently seeking IPX5, IPX7, IP5X certification for the tablet.
Other features include the option for LTE onboard within Japan where it is expected to stay after its planned launch in the first quarter of 2014.
Other features of the new Sharp Mebius Pad include and optional stylus and it comes supplied Office standard edition for free.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or the possibility of a global release has been mentioned by Sharp for the Mebius Pad at this time.
