Asus Transformer Book Duet dual OS convertible laptop tablet

asus transformer book duetAsus has announced a new dual OS laptop at CES, the Asus Transformer Book Duet. It comes loaded with both Windows 8.1 and Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The Asus Transformer Book Duet features a 13.3-inch full HD IPS display and a choice of Intel processors ranging up to the Intel Core i7 chip. You also get 4GB of DDR3 RAM.

The Transformer Book Duet (or TD300) notches up the bragging rights to being the world’s first quad-mode, dual-OS laptop and tablet convertible.

All that boasting means that users are able to switch between Windows and Android in either laptop or tablet modes with just a single push of the Instant Switch button or a virtual key on the tablet.

Asus says that, thanks to that Intel Core i7 processor, the Transformer Book Duet runs up to twice as fast as existing tablets based on ARM processors.

The convertible features ASUS SonicMaster technology and dual speakers which are said to dish out “incredible audio for immersive entertainment”.

For storage, the Asus Transformer Book Duet comes with up to a 128GB SSD in the tablet part of the device and up to 1TB of storage in the dock part of the device.

It is also equipped with 802.11 ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, plus a microSD card slot.
