Ricoh announce new rugged WG-4 cameras

Ricoh has revealed their new rugged waterproof cameras for the snap-happy adventurer which will be in stores next month.

The new WG-4 and WG-4 GPS (one is GPS-equipped and one isn’t) pack a fast 4x f2.0-4.9 25-100mm lens with sensor-shift and digital image stabilisation, and 16-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor.

They also have a ring of six LEDs around the lens for macro photography (they can focus as close as 0.4-inch from a subject).

Around the back you’ll find a 3-inch 460K-dot-resolution LCD with 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles and, on the front of the GPS version, you get a small LCD display for reading time, pressure, and altitude info.

Storage comes in at 70mb internal memory that can be expanded with cards.

These cameras boast a high-sensitivity anti-shake mode as well as 29 modes to capture dramatic images such as HDR shooting mode, slow motion video capture, and new Shutter Priority shooting mode.

The WG-4 GPS will come in black and blue versions and sell for $379.95, while the WG-4 will be available for $329.95 in silver and lime yellow. Both versions arrive in March.
