Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop updated

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52Acer has today unveiled the latest addition to its Nitro 5 gaming series. We really liked the earlier version and praised it for its refined styling and outstanding performance for casual gamers.

We saw some refinements at CES at the start of the year. However, this latest iteration boasts some real updates.

The newest 15-inch Nitro 5 offers improved speed and threading efficiency. To achieve this, you now get the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i7+ processors.

Acer Nitro 5 2018

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52The latest Acer Nitro 5 can be loaded with up to the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i7+ processors. These offer an improved six-core design, and emphasis on premium performance. This translates to not dropping a single fame or missing a beat as the action unfolds. Furthermore, the Intel Optane memory increases responsiveness and load times.

Naturally, you will need a GPU (graphics processing unit) that will match the processor. Now the Nitro 5 is equipped with the mighty NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Not only will this provide truly immersive graphics with faster rendering but also dynamic lighting enabling you to snipe enemies hiding in even the darkest shadows.

Additionally, up to 512 GB of NVMe PCIe solid-state storage is available. This not only offers ultra-fast boot up times, but also plenty of space for apps and games. Also, there is up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, which draws 20% less power than DDR3 memory for more efficient gaming sessions.

Finally, once on the battlefield, Acer’s NitroSense utility monitors the status of the CPU/GPU, while CoolBoost technology adjusts the fans for optimal performance.

Design

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52The Nitro 5 retains its elegant laser texturing and understated matte hinge.

That crimson red hinge beautifully matches the futuristic design of the backlit keyboard. Up front, the 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display produces brilliant imagery with crisp details.

There is also a front-facing HD web camera and shortcut to Mixer.

Further features

If all of that is not enough, you can add Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony tech for great audio.

Wireless duties are taken up by Intel Wireless AC 9560 2×2 802.11ac. There is also a plethora of ports including hyper-fast USB Type-C, HDMI 2.0, and Gigabit Ethernet.
