Samsung Galaxy Nexus Now in UK Stores

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Google’s flagship Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile phone, is now available to buy!

The Galaxy Nexus shared it’s release announcement with Google’s latest operating system offering, Ice Cream Sandwich last month.

As well as being the first to appear with Android 4.0 the Nexus has a very impressive spec list which includes a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and the peeper pleasing 4.65-inch Super AMOLED 1280×720-pixel display which boasts super colour reproduction, a response time of 0.01ms and an impressive 100,000:1 contrast ratio. That all should mean games and videos should pack a decent punch on the Nexus.

The new Sammy’s camera is a 5MP, 1080P unit which promises to make the most of Ice Cream Sandwich’s new features such as panoramas, video snapshots, timelapse movies, ‘zero’ shutter lag and especially that funky Face Unlock which does away with punching in a code to unlock your phone.

The Galaxy Nexus features a slightly curved back made from slip-resistant Hyperskin. The phone is only 8.94mm thich with a screen bezel of just 4.29mm. You’ll notice that there’s no navigation buttons which means that swanky screen takes up almost the entire real estate of the phone.

Google has now popped some images of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on a tablet on Android.com but there’s not that much to see.
