Everything Everywhere Helping Police Track Mindless Rioters – [Orange T-Mobile]

Anyone involved in the riots that communicated their mindless acts of theft and violence against their own communities via Orange or T-Mobile are being tracked down.

Everything Everywhere, the umbrella name of the Orange and T-Mobile partnership, has confirmed that it is working with police to help catch rioters and looters who used their mobiles during the recent riots in London, Manchester, Birmingham and elsewhere across the UK.

Using the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) the police have requested that Everything Everywhere hands over information regarding phone calls made by the unlawful bottom-feeders – this will include where and when the calls were made, who the calls were made to and who the phone is registered to.

This is a double-whammy if they happened to be using a BlackBerry as RIM has already announced that they would assist the law by turning over users BBM data associated with the rioting.
