Three’s Essential Internet Cuts off Before You Go Over

three ukThree are looking after you people that tend to go over your data limits and get whacked with a hefty bill at the end.

Three UK have introduced a new range of monthly smartphone plans this morning which will offer customers the opportunity to get some online action without the worry of going over their data allowance.

The Essential Internet Plans hands you 5000 texts, a choice of 100, 300 or 500 minutes and 250MB of data.

Now, 250MB isn’t going to wow those of you that are glued to your smartphone watching YouTube clips, spending an inordinate amount of time on Facebook and Twitter and finding your way around using GPS – but to those only just getting to grips with smartphones or don’t use much data, this may be a godsend.

The cleverness is that when you start reaching your data limit the lovely folks over at Three will text you a little heads-up, warning you that you’re about to reach the cut-off point. When you do hit your limit then they’ll simply cut off your data usage making it impossible to incur charges.

If you decide you want more then you can easily add bundles of 250MB for £2 or unlimited for £5 and they’ll last for 30-days.

At present it’s only available on the plans mentioned – whether or not they’ll bring it to larger data plans so you can up the limits as your confidence in yourself or your little cherubs grows remains to be seen, either way it looks to be a start in the right direction.

I think this is a great thing for kids and adults that, quite frankly, can’t be trusted to stay within their data limits.
