New hardware
Nintendo also revealed a brand new Joy Con colour – Neon Yellow. You might have noticed it at the top of this article 😉
This not-so-subtle hue is due on June 16th. It also lands at the same time as a new Joy Con battery pack.
The pack will extend the battery life of the wireless controllers using two AA batteries.
I didn’t notice if they actually mentioned quite how much extra life this pack will add to the Joy Con’s current 20-hour charge life.
SwitchCharge
There is also a new third party accessory.
InDemand Design’s SwitchCharge will add extended game-play time amongst other features.
As well as the hours of additional run time, the SwitchCharge brings a stronger stand and in-built cartridge storage.
It also swaps the charging port from the bottom to the side of the device, making charging while playing a lot more practical.
The device in currently being funded on IndieGoGo, where it has smashed its $80k goal.
