Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Under £40 – Buying a PC Soon? Then Get Win 8 for £14.99
Expecting the upcoming Windows 8 upgrade to cost and arm and a leg? Good news (unless you have a low-priced set of limbs) – Upgrading to the latest Microsoft OS is cheaper than you think!
If you’re looking to get a new puter soon there’s no need to wait til Windows 8 drops – you can opt to update to Win 8 for $14.99 or £14.99 in the UK. Taking the $ to £ conversion to apply to the rest of the deals – the other options are equally decent.
You’ll be able to update to Windows 8 via a download from Windows.com, once it has been launched, and with it you can add Windows Media Center for free from the “add features” option within Windows 8 Pro after you download the update for $39 – so £39 here.
This spanky deal is not just limited to those running Windows 7 either – PC owners running Windows XP or Windows Vista can also hop on to this love train.
If you want to own the silver spinny disc then a packaged DVD version of the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro will also be available for £69.99.
This is like a breath of fresh air after the Windows 7 upgrade cost £119 for the Home Premium vesion and the Pro one would hit you up for £199.
“We believe that your upgrade experience in Windows 8 will be a breeze by offering a faster experience, a single upgrade path, and compatibility from prior versions of Windows,” a Microsoft representative said in a blog post announcing the pricing.
The £39.99 upgrade price for Windows 8 will last until January 31, 2013.
I think this is the way forward – what do you reckon?
