Plair dongle makes your TV smart for $100

plair donglePlair is an inexpensive way of making your dumb television a bit smarter.

The sleek little dongle will enable video to be flung from any number of devices direct to your TV.

All you have to do is simply plug it into an empty HDMI port on your goggle box and then beam media to it via Wi-Fi.

It lands with custom apps for Android, iOS, OS X and Windows and will let you throw local video, network shows or content from a raft of websites including YouTube, ESPN, NBC, Fox, and plenty more.

The site states that it’s still in Beta but is should be available in late January this year for around $100.

No word if it will come to the UK though.
