Death Star trench run for Oculus Rift first look [video]

Let me just start by asking an obvious question. Why has it taken so long for someone to think of doing this? Soon you will be able to fly the famous Death Star trench run from Star Wars, just like Luke.

This is an early view of that most famous of Sci-fi bombing runs for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

I love the added niceness of being able to see R2 over your shoulder 🙂

Details on release are pretty much non-existent at the moment, but I imagine it’ll have to be free if its developer wants to avoid the brunt of the Dark Side via Disney’s legal team – unless they get an nice licensing deal…

I for one would love to turn off my targeting computer and have a go.
