Brewie – the smartphone controlled craft beer home-brewery
Brewie, the easiest home-brewing machine EVER has now been launched on Indiegogo.
Craft beers are practically everywhere these days with Micro-Breweries popping up here, there and everywhere. The craft beer industry in the UK alone is increasing a remarkable 79% per year! The thing is, to brew a tasty pint yourself still takes skill, time and room to do it. Not to mention kit that looks more at home in Dr Frankenstein’s lab.
Nevertheless, home-brewing is on the rise, growing by 200% in the U.S. over the last 10 years but it has taken til now for a home-brew revolution to take place — thanks to Brewie, the world’s first fully automated home-brewing machine.
There is a growing demand for craft beer worldwide, yet due to its premium price most people still stick with commercial mass produced beer.
This is where the appeal for home-brewing comes in as the cost of brewing one bottle of beer is a third or a quarter of a commercial beer’s price.
Unfortunately brewing beer at home is a heavily complicated and, more frustratingly, long process. Not to mention one that needs space, experience, and knowledge. These all tend to put off those that might fancy the idea but, like me, lacks the time and patience.
Brewie is an automatic personal brewery that takes out the hassle of brewing.
It requires no experience or knowledge about brewing, can fit in to a fairly small kitchen and needs no human surveillance.
It allows its user to brew 20-25 litres of quality, craft beer in just 5 hours for the cost of around 16p per bottle. Recipes are available and are activated through the swipe of an RFID card.
The creators of Brewie have also built a social platform where brewers can exchange recipes and share knowledge.
Thanks to Brewie’s WiFi connectivity and smartphone app you can keep an eye on your brew and intervene if required from anywhere in the world.
