McIntosh LB100 – one for the fans
In the world of Hi-Fi, there are some brands that seem to cultivate an almost fanboy/girl loyalty. One such brand is McIntosh. Now, there is a way for those McFans to fly their flag high.
As I was flicking through Twitter, the McIntosh LB100 Lightbox caught my eye. To start with I was unsure as to whether or not April Fools had come around early.
But, if you’ve got your McIntosh system to how you like it, and have $1500 US burning a hole in your pocket, why not?
McIntosh LB100 Lightbox
The LB100, of course, features the famous green backlit logo against the deepest of blacks and aluminium end caos. Furthermore it displays the “Handcrafted in the USA since 1949” statement as a badge of honour.
It is also compatible with McItosh’s Power Control so the Lightbox will turn on and off with the rest of your Hi-Fi kit.
It measures 44.45cm x 15.24cm x 29.05cm and weighs in at 12 lbs (5.2 kg). So, is around the same size as the company’s CD player and so will slot seamlessly in to your stack.
Price and availability
