Need Wi-Fi at Glastonbury? Get close to a cow

Letting all your friends know what a great and muddy time you’re having at a festival has just got easier thanks to a high tech herd.

Last year saw EE plonk its Wi-Fi tractor at Glastonbury and now it is providing free 4G Wi-Fi to festival goers by converting cows into mobile internet hotspots.

Don’t worry – no harm will come to your bovine buddies as these aren’t Worthy Farm’s own dairy cows I’m talking about, rather a herd of highspeed fibreglass cows that double as hotspots.

EE has also installed a bespoke 4G network at Glastonbury to ensure the cows maintain connectivity throughout the festival.

“Staying connected has become an essential part of any festival-goers experience and we are thrilled to be back supporting Glastonbury Festival, helping to ensure those on site have the best possible experience,” said Spencer McHugh, director of brand at EE. “Worthy Farm’s famous dairy herd are award-winning, much like our superfast 4G network, and we wanted to have some fun this year while providing a much-needed service.”

The cows have been decorated by veteran Glastonbury bin artist Hank who states:

The 4GEE Highspeed Herd will be available for internet access from 10am to 10pm from Thursday June 26th to Sunday June 29th.
