Motorola Lapdock 100 Released – Transforms Atrix 2 and Other Moto’s into Laptops

So, it’s official – the Motorola Atrix 2 is getting a brand new laptop dock. Please welcome to the stage the Motorola Lapdock 100!

The Lapdock 100 will be available for Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Motorola smartphones in the US and will play nice with the Motorola Atrix 2, the Motorola Photon 4G and the Motorola Droid Bionic. This means that all of those mobile phones will be magically transformed into being the brains behind a fully functional laptop.

According to the blurb Moto’s Lapdock 100 is equipped with: a bright 10.1-inch high resolution, high quality audio, large ergonomically-slanted keyboard with dedicated Android keys, touch-pad, multi-tasking capabilities, and desktop-class tabbed web browsing using Wi-Fi or the smartphone’s data plan, the innovative companion device is now more affordable, lightweight, and intuitive.

Don’t worry if it looks as though the neat hidden docking port at the rear of the original Lapdock has been ditched in favour of a wired attachment – that would just be weird! Check the other pic in the gallery below and you’ll find all is as it should be. It’s just that, oddly, there’s not a large picture available from Moto’s media library of that shot.

AT&T will start selling the Motorola Lapdock 100 from October 17th  and Verizon and Sprint will have it available later this quarter, there are no details on pricing as yet.

Will you be queuing up for this and the Atrix 2 when they land in the UK?
