Samsung to unveil Galaxy S IV at CES? 8 months between S3 and S4!
Could annual updates be a thing of the past? Latest rumours are taht Samsung could launch the Samsung Galaxy S IV as early as CES 2013 in January.
With the iPad 4 landing 6 months after the ‘new’ iPad 3 it looks like Samsung may be bring their latest smartphone to CES – a mere 8 months since the launch of the popular Galaxy S III.
Following a story first published in Asia Economics it seems that everyone on the interwebs is expecting Samsung to introduce a smartphone with a large 1920×1080 resolution display at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Taking that snippet of info many folks have put 2 and 2 together and shoehorned it to almost fit a 4.5.
As Samsung usually have the SGS flagship launch between February and May rumour-mongers have suggested that Sammy may bring the launch forward to January in order to build on the momentum gathered by the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S III.
According to rumours currently circulating, the SGS4 will pack an even bigger screen than the SGS3.
Samsung is using its current mass production method mixed with advanced LITI technology to bring the phone to life.
Apparently the head of Samsung Electronics demanded the S IV to feature a Full HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 441 pixels-per-inch.
It’s not the first time the 5-inch display specs have been touted. The Korean Times reported in September that the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch date was set for February 2013 and would come with a 5-inch screen.
If this turns out to be true – would you expect Samsung to offer a free/cheap update just like the iPad 3 owners who had bought no long before the iPad 4’s outing?
