Watch the Casio G-Shock Gravitymaster in space, free fall to Earth
The usual standard for displaying a watch’s indestructibility is how deep it can go. However, Casio have sent one of their, aptly named, G-Sock Gravitymaster watches in to space.
To mark the release of its new Gravitymaster watch, G-Shock has decided to put its new super-strong timepiece through its paces in the most extreme test of all.
The hardy watch was sent to survive the cold, endless vacuum of space.
Extreme endurance
The tenacious time-teller will have to suck up temperatures of minus 58 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, it will reach a height of 44.1km above the Earth.
The Gravitymaster will then be sent on a 25km surge past the ‘Armstrong Limit’. This is the outer limit of human survival in space. You know, before your blood begins to boil.
All-in-all the hardy G-Shock would spend a total of 1 hour and 22 minutes in space.
Additionally, the risk-loving wristwatch was expected to endure a 123-metre free fall to earth. In this section of its adventure it will hot speeds of 65km per hour.
I believe that all of this will certainly test its unbreakable credentials.
