LG Optimus Vu Official Specifications Released Ahead of MWC – Samsung Galaxy Note Competitor

LG Optimus VuLG have jumped the gun yet again to fully reveal their new product. This time, ahead of Mobile World Congress which starts on the 27th, they have outed their new Optimus Vu handset.

Along with the full specifications of their 4:3 aspect ratio handset there’s a bunch of pretty pictures go along with them.

“The Optimus Vu: was designed to maximize what customers could do with a smart-phone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “By offering an optimal 4:3 ratio viewing experience, 5-inch display combined with superfast LTE technology, Optimus Vu: is just one example of what we can achieve when we combine our best technology with customer needs.”

The Optimus Vu seems to be folling in the footsteps of that other widephone, the Samsung Galaxy Note.

Spec-wise the Optimus Vu is equipped with a 1024×768 resolution, stylus-friendly 5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the hood.

You also get an 8MP camera, LTE compatibility all powered by a 2080mAh battery.

The Optimus view will land using Android 2.3 Gingerbread but will get an Ice Cream Sandwich flavoured update within three months of its launch.

The slender mobile measures 139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5mm – which apparently makes it the skinniest LTE smartphone out there.

The LG Optimus Vu is scheduled for a March release on Korean carriers SK Telecom and LG+.

I’m still not convinced about this wider format – what do you thing about it?
