Samsung Galaxy Tab S – Tab event confirmed for June 12th

Samsung has confirmed that they are holding a press event in New York on June 12th with the star of the show lined up to be the Sammy’s new tablet – the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.

Samsung posted the photo above on Twitter, which confirms the date of the event, it comes with the headline ‘Tab Into Color’ which I think we can take as suggesting that we will soon be seeing some new Galaxy Tab tablets.

Samsung are expected to announce the new Galaxy Tab S range of tablets at the event of which there will be two devices, one with sporting a 10.5-inch display and another with an 8.4-inch screen.

The 10.5 model apparently measures 246.5mm wide and 176.4mm tall. No thickness has been mentioned as yet but, looking at this picture, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is quite slim.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets will feature a WQHD Super AMOLED display that will have a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

Alleged specifications include an octa-core Exynos 5420 chipset, Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with the Samsung Magazine UI. Camera setup includes an 8MP rear snapper and 2MP front-facing one.
