iOS 8.4 and Apple Music lands tomorrow

Apple Music is launching tomorrow and now Apple has confirmed that they will also be releasing iOS 8.4 tomorrow.

As well as releasing iOS 8.4 for Apple Music, the company also confirmed that it will be releasing a new version of iOS 9 Beta for developers that will enable their new music streaming service.

Apple has said exactly when iOS 8.4, which will bring with it Apple Music, will become available — and when the Beats 1 radio station that is launching alongside it will go live.

The iOS 8.4 update will become available at 8am pacific time, or 4pm in the UK.

Then, an hour later, Apple’s Beats 1 radio station will start streaming.

Apple Music will be available as a free trial for the first three months, after that there will be two paid options, a single user plan which costs $9.99 (£6.37) a month – the same as the paid tier of Spotify or the non-Hi-Fi version of Tidal – and a family plan which costs $14.99 a month. The UK prices are yet to be confirmed but will likely be the same just swap $ for £.

The app, which will also become the first Apple-designed software to make the move to Google’s Android operating system, is the result of Apple purchasing Beats Audio last year.

The Dr Dre-founded company’s headphones are now on sale in Apple retail stores, and Apple Music is set to be the replacement for the Beats Music app.
