Android Marshmallow gets funky new boot animation
Yup, we can stop calling it Android M now. It’s official – the next Android software confection will be Marshmallow. Not only that, Google have swapped up the boot detail.
Google has finally unveiled the official name for its new operating system, technically going by Android 6.0, by way of a statue over at Building 43 (the Android building) at Google HQ in Mountain View.
Marshmallow was definitely up there as one of the favourites for the next Android version name, although I was holding out for Marzipan.
I can’t really award many points for the new statue as far as creativity is concerned – but it does get the point across.
There’s also a new developer preview for Android 6.0 Marshmallow that’s packing a host of new features and things to tweak if that’s your thing.
As far as I am concerned right now, the coolest thing is the new boot animation which greets you at loading.
So, say goodbye to your balls… you know, those looping balls that have been around for the last couple years when you boot up your Android device?
Enjoy 🙂
