KEF Kube subwoofers – new 300W iBX bass bringers
KEF has revealed its trio of new subwoofers, the Kube8b, Kube10b and Kube12b.
KEF’s new subwoofers have been engineered to reveal hidden depths and bring out the true scale of sound.
The Maidestone maestro’s design and engineering teams worked together closely to develop an advanced Digital Signal Processing algorithm (DSP).
Intelligent Bass Extension
That DSP has been dubbed the Intelligent Bass Extension, better known as iBX.
This clever algorithm extends depth to maximise the capabilities of the custom designed driver. The result is an “unparalleled precision and ultimate synchronicity between amplifier, driver and sealed cabinet”.
Well, that’s got my attention.
Kube subwoofers
The new Kubes are available in three driver sizes, 12-, 10- and 8-inches. So, something for everyone there.
They are equipped with a range of LFE, line, and speaker-level inputs, and Phase selection. Additionally, they are also packing 3 DSP controlled EQ settings.
This will help match your choice of sub to any room placement.
Furthermore, they feature a 56bit 50 MIPS DSP preamplifier.
Tech inside
The DSP analyses your input signal and applies KEF’s iBX. This allows the sub to “play louder and remain dynamic at any listening level”.
This proprietary DSP programming has been developed by KEF’s UK engineering team.
These subs are kitted out with KEF smartConnect intelligent inputs. This tech automatically detect mono or stereo and adjusts the subwoofer volume level accordingly.
They also feature placement tuning presets for: Free standing, Wall/in-cabinet and Corner.
Moreover, I mustn’t forget the small matter of the 300Watt Class D amplifier.

The new KEF subwoofers are available with a 12-inch, 10-inch, or 8-inch driver. I’ll let you work out which is which 😉
