Nokia Lumia 1520 UK price and release date revealed

nokia lumia 1520Nokia has announced a UK price and release date for its 6-inch mobile, the Lumia 1520. The device will be unleashed to the shops on December 6th – that’s a week on Friday.

Carphone Warehouse has previously teased the 6th as the 1520’s release date, but now Nokia has made it all official.

The 1520 is the biggest blower Nokia has ever made. And probably the biggest it ever will – taking in to consideration that the Finnish phone firm will become part of Microsoft early next year.

The new Nok has a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The screen is so big, you can fit on an extra row of Live Tiles, which should cut down on scrolling and flicking when trying to find that app you’re after.

On the back is a humongous 20-megapixel camera and Nokia has also added some extra imaging skills in the form of its Nokia Camera and Nokia Storyteller apps.

The phone is free on contracts starting at £38 a month. Or if you want to pick it up SIM-free, you’ll have to cough up £600 less a few pence.

It’s up for pre-order now from Carphone Warehouse, or you can pick one up from O2 stores, Vodafone online, Phones 4u, and independent retailers.

Will you be picking one up? Let me know in the comments below.
