Steam Cloud – Cloud Computing First
Anyone into PC gaming, like me, will have heard of Steam – it’s their fault that I am addicted to Counter Strike Source!
Valve and Steam have brought us another fabby free thing to ensure they’re bringing us firsts.
Valve are taking the lead with two very hyped developments in how we consume software — digital distribution and now they’ve thrown cloud computing into the Steam pie! This appears in the latest client update.
Imaginatively named Steam Cloud, the update will let you store profiles, keybindings and all of your saved games online – that’s on top off all the social networking features like calendars and stuff.
All of this is free to us Steam users (which is also free).
