Sony Xperia XZ Premium up for preorder on Amazon UK
The new Sony Xperia XZ Premium is up on Amazon UK for pre-order, and the handset is showing a release date of the June 1st 2017.
All of us on The Tech Addicts podcast agreed that the Sony Xperia Premium is well worth checking out. It first appeared at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Xperia XZ Premium specs
The XZ Premium is one of the first devices to utilise the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Here it is supported by an Adreno 540 GPU.
The phone comes with a typically great Sony screen. This one is 5.50-inches and can dish out 4K with a resolution of 2160 pixels by 3840 pixels.
You also get 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium packs a 19-megapixel primary camera on the rear with 5-axis stabilisation and a 13-megapixel front shooter for selfies. This new sensor is capable of recording 960 fps video allowing for silky smooth slow motion capture.

It runs Android 7.1 and is powered by a 3230mAh non-removable battery.
The Snapdragon 835 comes with Quick Charge 4 support, yet Sony announced the XZ Premium with Quick Charge 3.0.
It measures 156 x 77 x 7.9 (H x W x T) and weighs in at 195 grams.
Sony Xperia XZ price and availability
The Sony Xperia XZ will retail for £649 when it launches in the UK.
That’s obviously for the unlocked version of the handset. It is also coming to the major UK carriers on contract.
