Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 UK Release Date Official
Samsung has now officially confirmed that their Galaxy Tab 10.1 will launch in the UK later this summer – read on for the date and all that good stuff.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 promises to iron out all those niggles which faced users of the original Galaxy Tab. By all accounts the Tab 10.1 is a very polished Android Honeycomb-powered indeedy.
The Galaxy Tab was given a thorough going over after Apple launched its iPad 2. The result was that the Tab 10.1 is more iPady.
“The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the latest example of Samsung’s ongoing innovation in this market and commitment to the Android platform,†announced Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland, before going on to state: “Our Galaxy family all feature a premium design, excellent screens and are packed with compelling entertainment features. We plan to deliver exciting new user experiences and lead the tablet market in the months and years to come.”
The new Galaxy Tab has a slender 8.6mm form factor but has had to drop the 8-megapixel snapper in favour of a lower res 3-megapixel camera. But who takes pics with a slate anyhow?
The Tab 10.1 is packing a 1GHz dual-core processor and will arrive in both Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi plus 3G flavours and will be available in black and white finishes.
The 3-megapixel rear mounted camera has 720p HD video recording capabilities with a 2-megapixel number facing front for vid-calling.
The 10.1-inch WXGA display has a 1280 x 800p resolution for full HD video playback and you get to choose between 16, 32 and 64GB storage options.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 lands in the UK on August 4th but there’s no pricing or contract info announced as yet.
