Retro Blackbird Twin Lens Reflex Camera by Superheadz

blackbird-camThe Blackbird Camera from superheadz is a twin-lens reflex camera: one lens is used to expose the film, while the other is used like a viewfinder.

This style of camera which goes back to the 1920s, typically uses larger 120 format film. The blackbird uses regular 35mm film which means it can be processed anywhere from Boots to Snappy Snaps.

As well as the 35mm lens with focal adjustment, you get 2 exposure settings (f7/f11), 2 shutter speeds, a hot shoe and 2 masks for cropping your film. You can even snap without the mask so that the image will bleed over the edge of the film, into the perforations. How arty?

You can get one for $125 from UrbanOutfitters online in the states – it doesn’t look like it’s available here in the European branches.
