Optoma unleashes GT1080Darbee gaming projector

Optoma has just released the GT1080Darbee projector, especially aimed at gamers.

Building on the success of the popular GT1080e, the new projector has integrated DARBEE Visual Presence image enhancement technology.

It also features an Enhanced Gaming Mode. The equips the projector with an impressive 16ms response time. We all know how important response times are for gaming.

Optoma Darbee

The GT1080Darbee is the second in Optoma’s Darbee range following the launch of its HD28DSE home entertainment projector.

This technology, exclusive to Optoma projectors, promises exceptional levels of depth and realism to imagery.

The bright, 3,000-lumen projector produces vivid colours whether gaming or watching TV shows, sports and movies.

The GT1080Darbee has a short-throw lens. This means it can be placed on a coffee table and project a stunning 100-inch Full HD 1080p image from just over a metre away.

Enhanced Gaming mode

The Enhanced Gaming Mode setting is designed to optimise the projector for lightning response times, maximum contrast and vivid colours.

The GT1080Darbee packs a pair of HDMI ports. This means you can hook-up games consoles, Blu-ray players or digital television set top boxes. Just flick between sources using the press of a button.

You also get MHL connectivity. This makes it easy to wirelessly share content from MHL devices such as the Optoma HDCast Pro, Roku’s streaming stick, tablets and smartphones. So, from your device, play back music and video, view pictures and even share webpages and other user generated digital media content wirelessly.

For added convenience, the GT1080Darbee comes complete with an integrated speaker that delivers 16W audio.

Optoma says that, despite the small dimensions of the projector, the level of audio created will easily fill a living space.

An audio output is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.
