Yamaha MusicCast gaining Alexa voice control
Yamaha MusicCast will hang on your every word come the Autumn.
Yamaha is making it even more convenient to intuitively operate their multiroom system.
Thanks to Amazon Alexa, it will be possible to distribute music throughout the house using voice control.
In Autumn 2017, Yamaha will release a firmware update for more than 40 products from the lineup. That’s everything from AV receivers to sound bars to streaming speakers.
An Alexa skill that adds support for the MusicCast commands will simultaneously be made available.

Well, if you want to use Amazon Alexa in combination with your multiroom system now, you don’t have to wait til the end of the year.
Since the Echo Dot offers a Bluetooth output, it can be easily paired with any MusicCast wireless speaker, sound bar or AV receiver.
After that, the two devices can be connected by simply saying the magic words, “Alexa, connect.”
The sound of the Echo Dot can then be played back through a single device, or multiple devices can be linked using the MusicCast app.
