IKEA Uppleva Smart TV – Built in Entertainment in Stores Next Month [video]
I got a whisper last month that IKEA was planning on releasing their own Smart TVs. Well, more information has emerged regarding IKEA’s Uppleva range of TVs and they’ll be available very soon.
The Uppleva line from IKEA will be smart TVs which will (flat)pack around 20 apps tailored for specific countries. Word is that these will be in European stores by next month!
IKEA has already secured a number of big-name partners, including YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion.
As well as those important streaming portals the apps will enable music playback, gaming, VOD, and “catch-up” video playback. The TVs will also arrive with the Opera for TV web browser built-in.
The Uppleva TVs will come with screens ranging from 24 to 46-inches, and feature an integrated Blu-ray player and separate wireless subwoofer – all of which will no doubt have silly names 😉
The Uppleva range will launch in selected stores in Italy, France, Germany, Poland and, of course, IKEA’s native Sweden next month before venturing further afield in the Autumn.
