Galaxy Note 6 UK launch planned

galaxy note 6 ukSamsung Galaxy Note 6 UK launch is on the cards – unlike its predecessor which was extremely conspicuous by its absence.

Samsung Note 5 – who in the UK owns one? Well, unless you imported a Note 5, then you would have been hard pushed to get one on this tiny group of islands.

Since Sammy decided to ignore the UK in its release plans for the Note 5 much to the disappointment of all stylus-lovers here. There were rumours of a January launch, but there is still an empty space on the UK’s Sammy shelves.

Samsung has apparently however decided not to disappoint fans UK fans this time around, with Tech Radar reporting on plans of a Galaxy Note 6 UK launch happening later this year.

The handset will apparently be available for UK-based gadgety fans in August, taking the place of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge+.

galaxy note 6 uk launchYup, the Galaxy Note 6 UK launch will mean that Samsung’s flagship 2016 lineup here will consist of the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy Note 6.

According to the source:

Samsung isn’t going to launch the S7 Edge+ in the UK. I got the impression that it had been a bit of a disappointment sales-wise and that the decision to keep the Note 5 out of Europe is now considered a mistake… So our information is that the Note 6 will launch in the UK in August and that there will be no S7 Edge+.”

Samsung confirmed earlier this month that it will announce its next devices in the form of the teaser video below.

This appetiser suggests a VR-related announcement at the Barcelona launch.

The video doesn’t reveal overly much else, but leaked images have shown pretty much all there is to know about the two Sammy smartphones. Expect 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch QHD screens, a heavily-skinned version of Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow software, IP67 dust- and water-resistance certification, 12MP rear-facing cameras and microSD slots with support for cards up to 200GB.

This is all unofficial at the moment but as Samsung’s Unpacked 2016 event is only on February 21st, we don’t have long to wait.
