Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro arrives next month
The Huawei Mate 9 now has a press date set for its announcement. There’s also some official-looking pictures of the upcoming handset.
The Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro pics have been outed by VentureBeat and EV Leaks ahead of their official unveiling next month.
Announcement
Huawei has just sent out press invites to an event that will take place in Munich, Germany on the 3rd of November 2016. Granted, they didn’t say exactly what but ‘flagship device’ sounds like the Mate 9 to me.
Specs
So, the 5.9-inch handsets will come in two flavours. The flat Mate 9 resembles a Mate 8 crossed with a Galaxy Note 5, while the curved-screen Pro looks like a cross between the Mate 8 and Galaxy Note Edge.
The Pro packs slightly superior specs. So, the Pro will be loaded with a 5.9-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 curved display, and a Kirin 960 processor. That is linked to 4GB of RAM and a similar dual-lens camera as the one in the Huawei P9.
The regular version will feature most of the same kit, albeit with a flat, Full HD screen.
Additionally, word is that the Pro handset will work with Google’s Daydream VR headset. But, that’s likely to be China only anyhow.
