New Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet announced
Amazon has just announced their all-new Fire HD 8. This next-generation Fire HD tablet is all new and packs an 8-inch HD widescreen and much more.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 has been designed from the ground up for all-day entertainment.
As well as that new 8-inch 1280 x 800 (189 ppi) display there’s a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor.
The Fire HD 8 offers an incredible 12 hours of battery life, 50% more RAM (1.5GB) for faster performance, and twice the on-device storage. You can even add to 200 GB of additional storage via a microSD card should you need it.
Fire HD 8 delivers access to millions of movies, TV shows, songs, books, and apps and games. Not only that, there’s exclusive features like X-Ray, ASAP, Second Screen, Amazon Underground, and On Deck.
Jorrit Van der Meulen, VP, Amazon Devices EU confidently said:
We believe in a different approach to tablets—providing premium products at non-premium prices—and customers love it. In fact, we’ve seen our Fire tablet sales more than double year-over-year as a result… The all-new Fire HD 8 packs more battery life, more storage, and faster performance—all for less than £90.”
There’s front and rear cameras and Dolby Audio powered stereo speakers.
The tablet runs Fire OS 5 which now supports comiXology and Twitch. You also get Amazon Underground. This is “a one-of-a-kind app store experience” where thousands of premium apps, games, and even in-app items are 100% free. This includes extra lives, unlocked levels, unlimited add-on packs, and more.
The new Fire tablet is available in 16 GB or 32 GB flavours and comes in four colour options: Black, magenta, blue, and tangerine.
