UK eBay gets one hour delivery and click and connect features
Announcements at the London press gathering have brought two new options to getting your hands on those ‘bargains’ you’ve bid for on eBay.
Devin Wenig, eBay’s president, has just made some significant announcements for you UK lovers of the online auction site.
At today’s London press conference, Wenig has stated that the site is launching “click and connect,” a service that lets you purchase from large high-street sellers, and then pick your item up in-store.
For those merchants that don’t have a physical presence, a collaboration with the keeper of the laminated book of dreams, a.k.a. Argos, will mean they can deliver items through the chain’s infrastructure, offering yet another delivery channel.
Wenig has stated that 150 Argos stores will have an “eBay collection point” with more locations likely to follow.
There’s no word so far on costs to the seller (or buyer), but when you simply just gotta have it as soon as possible…
… well, eBay is also rolling out its one hour delivery service across Europe, starting in London early next year.
