Samsung Gear Fit features curved AMOLED screen and health monitors

Samsung has unveiled the refreshed Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, but it doesn’t finish there for Sammy wearables as it also showed off the Gear Fit.

Samsung has released the Gear Fit, a wearable device that comes with the industry’s first curved Super AMOLED display that can be connected to Galaxy S5’s health management features.

The stunning 1.84-inch curved screen pumps out a resolution of 432 x 128 pixels to your peepers.

The health-centric Samsung Gear Fit comes with a bunch of sensors that helps users track how many steps they’ve taken as well as monitoring their heart rate, sleeping patterns, and more.

The wearable also functions as a watch, believe it or not, and comes with a stopwatch for timing your workout.

The heart rate monitor checks the heart beat after every ninety seconds and feeds it in the Samsung Health app on the phone, which can be connected using Bluetooth 4.0 LE technology.

When the Gear Fit is hooked up to your mobile it will flash up real-time notifications, including SMS, emails, calls and such like.

Gear fit is also IP67 certified making it dust and water-resistant, which is ideal if you’re more of an outdoorsy fitness-type.

Samsung also uses the Smart Relay feature which is pretty interesting. The notification you are reading on the watch will open up on your phone when you will turn it on. There’s also a media controller app that lets you control the music on your phone from the band.

It measures 23.4 x 57.4 x 11.95mm and weighs just 27g. There’s a 210mAh battery on board and Samsung says this will give you about 3-4 days of use.

Samsung Gear fit comes with changeable straps and is available in Black, Orange and Mocha Grey colours.

There’s no word about the pricing of the Samsung Gear Fit, but it’s expected to hit the retail shelves globally on April 11th, along with the Samsung Galaxy S5.
