LG launches ultra-wide 34-inch QHD monitor, the 34UM95

LG has just announced a brand new monitor for release in May, dubbed the 34UM95. This IPS 21:9 UltraWide QHD monitor packs a huge resolution and clever Screen Split and Dual Link-up functions.

LG has just released info on the world’s first 34-inch UltraWide monitor.

The 34-inch Mega Monitor features a 21:9 UltraWide QHD display with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels. To give you some idea of how wide this thing is LG goes on to boast that it will allow you to view 47 columns and 63 rows at once in Microsoft Excel.

No need for multiple monitors

The 34UM95 will support multiple variations of split screen, eliminating the need for multiple monitors for most users. You will be able to split the screen into 2, 3 and even 4 separate visual monitors with 8 different variations. In order to do so you will need to make sure you are using a DVI-D, HMDI or DisplayPort connection.

LG True Colour management

There’s also enhanced colour management built into the monitor, allowing users to ensure that colour tones and accuracy stays the same across all of their screens, with the ability to express over 99% of the sRGB colour space available, it offers a 10-bit colour depth, with LGs True Colour Finder software built-in, to make sure the colour you see is always the right one.

LG have also built-in a Reader Mode that helps prevent eye-strain when using the TV for long periods of time, as well as a Flicker-Safe mode, which is said to virtually eliminate screen flicker.

And to top that off, the 34UM95 is also fully compatible with Thunderbolt 2, allowing for support with compatible Macs, it will enable users to grab transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps, which is currently the fastest speed that is available on any monitor. ThunderBolt 2 can also be daisy-chained so you only need one port to connect to up to six devices.

This means that users can both watch and edit raw 4K video, through a single port, with support for a range of devices, including the new Mac Pro.
