Samsung Galaxy S5 in UK stores today
The Samsung Galaxy S5 launches globally today, and Samsung has now started selling the handset from their online shop as well as retail stores in the UK.
The Galaxy S5 is available from Samsung right now and the handset comes in a range of colours, although Samsung only appears to be offering the black and white models from today with the blue version being offered for pre-order.
The gold version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be sold on the high street exclusively through mobile carrier Vodafone and, even though it appears on the Samsung site, there is no notice next to it.
Samsung’s latest Android phone comes with some impressive specifications, as you’d expect.
The new Sammy smartphone is equipped with a 5.1-inch full high definition display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Powering the Galaxy S5 is Qualcomm’s latest mobile processor, a 2.5Ghz quad core Snapdragon 801, the device also features 2GB of RAM and a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of built in storage.
Should you need extra storage, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is equipped with a microSD card slot that supports the latest 128GB microSD cards.
The S5 also features dual cameras – for video chat there’s a front facing 2 megapixel camera and for photos and video it has a 16 megapixel shooter around the back.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.4 Kit Kat, the device also comes with a new update version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
Samsung has been making a big deal about the S5’s heart rate monitor but did you know that your smartphone probably already has one of these?
You can buy the Galaxy S5 direct from Samsung’s site for £579.
