Sony S1 Tablet UK Release Date Confirmed. Pre-order Now – Dixons Exclusive
As predicted – the Sony S1 tablet is available in 10 days but ready for pre-order now!
The odd wedge-shaped tablet’s design, looking to ape a magazine folded back on itself, is said to make using the S1 on a flat surface a total joy.
The Sony S1 tablet runs Android Honeycomb 3.1 as it’s OS of choice and is kitted out with a 9.4-inch touchscreen and Nvidia Tegra 2 processor inside and shall be on shelves by September 16th.
It’s special weapon is that it’s PlayStation Certified, just like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone, and will allow you to play games using the Sony PS3 Bluetooth gamepad.
While you could pre-order direct from Sony before, this is the first time the tablet has been given a release date. The other point worth mentioning is that Dixons has the Sony S1 as an exclusive for two whole weeks.
Head on over to the Dixons UK website, and you can place your order for a 16GB Wi-Fi only Sony S1 Android tablet right now which will hit you for £399.
If you have more cash and want more memory then cough up another £100 for the 32GB – this one will ship on September 23rd. A Wi-Fi and 3G model is on the way – no launch date as yet for that particular breed of beast.
I think that we were all expecting the Sony slate to be fairly pricy but will the ability to play PlayStation One games enough to entice you over from other Android tablets?
