Asus Transformer Infinity UK Release Date and Specification – Prime Android Tablet Action
The successor to the Asus Transformer Prime is said to be heading to the UK in a month or so – be prepared to welcome the Transformer Infinity!
Yeah, they still sound like elitist robots.
The Asus Transformer Infinity will be grabbing the baton from Transformer Prime in August according to word straight from Asus.
The new Transformer was first flashed about at the start of the year at CES.
Transformer Infinity is equipped with a Gorilla Glass 2 full HD screen (1920 x 1200) – Asus proudly boasts that it’ll be the first Android tablet to rock that many pixels.
What makes Asus Transformers, transformers is the fact that the tablet can be slotted in to a QWERTY keyboard dock. Not only does that give you a natty notebook-style device, your tablet gets an energy boost to give it legs to run for 14 hours. Without the keyboard’s assistance the lone slate will survive happily for around 9.5 hours.
Under the hood there’s a 1.6GHz quad-core processor which shoves along using Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Other pleasantries include an 8-megapixel main camera, 32GB or 64GB storage options, USB and SD card ports.
All of that is slipped inside a body measuring a mere 8.5mm-thin.
Word on the interweblogosphere is that the Transformer Infinity will cost €600 for a 64GB Wi-Fi version. If that holds true and there’s a fair conversion that would have it tagged at around £480. If that’s too rich for you, there’s always the Transformer Pad 300.
I’ll try to find out an actual UK price soon 🙂
