Is Microsoft Preparing Office for iPad and Android Tablets?

Microsoft is said to be preparing to open its full Office suite to both the Apple iPad and Google Android tablets. This means that you’ll be able to create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on your nifty slates.

That typical “reliable source” has let slip that they have seen Microsoft Office running on an iPad and that Microsoft is gearing towards a November arrival for both the iOS and Android platforms.

The other thing is that this source mentions “office for iOS” – now are they saying that it will work on iPhones and the iPod Touch too?

Microsoft has been quite definite in the past that they have absolutely no intention of sullying the Office suite by allowing it be used on Android or iOS.
