RAM price drop means bargain PC memory upgrades

Owing to a decline in demand for PCs and tablets the cost of RAM has followed suit so, if you’re considering an upgrade, now may well be a good time.

According to reports, DRAM prices are the lowest in about 26 months.

Over the second quarter of 2015 the price of DRAM has dropped by 9%. Right now the price of a 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 chip costs around $2.913, with a contract price of $3.13, with the price of a full 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM costing around $27.50.

Right now it looks like DRAM prices are as low as they are ever going to be, making now the time to spend on that memory upgrade that you have been looking for. Soon this will all turn around as the demand for new computers and tablets will increase thanks to students heading back to school and more system makers will be creating new products in time for the holiday season.

Just checking over on a renowned PC component e-tailer’s site I can a deal for 8GB of 2400MHz memory for less than £60.

You’d be daft not to jump on it – I’ve got 16GB of Corsair Vengeance but am contemplating a speed tweak 😉
