Mighty Boom Ball keychain speaker review

The Mighty Boom Ball has landed. The tiny yet noisy pocket sized amplifier allows pretty much anything with a cavity to  become your loudspeaker.

The Mighty Boom Ball is all set to become this year’s Christmas Stocking filler and, even though it’s only 3.5cm in diameter, it makes a definate difference to the volume coming out of your device.

Connect the power pack to the Boom Ball on one end and to your mobile phone using the 3.5mm jack on the other, place the ball on your choice of speaker whether it be a drink can, empty coffee cup or, in my case, a practically empty CD-R spindle, and away you go.

To be honest I was amazed at how much sound the little thing could kick out. The depth and clarity seems dependant on the surface you stick it to but those that like sharing their music on public transport seem happy enough with what comes out of their tinny phone speakers – the Mighty Boom Ball will blow them away.
