Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Dropping on May 24
Microsoft will be lifting the lid on its Windows Phone upgrades on 24 May and yours truly will be one of the VIPs attending – that’s my invite in the picture!
The event will focus on Windows Phone 7.5 which is also named Mango.
Microsoft has already given us a peek into what can be expected from Mango and various loose-lipped developers have filled in a number of blanks.
As well as better Twitter integration, motion sensing tech and multitasking cleverness being on the agenda Bing on Windows Phone will be getting some serious tweakage:
Bing Audio sounds like it will be acting like a Windows Shazam – Bing Audio will be able to identify any song using the mobile’s mic.
Bing Vision takes the WinPho snapper and uses the camera as a search device – the owner can point the lens at bar codes and QR codes but also movie posters, text and perhaps it will even develop to being able to name any flora or fauna you come across.
The most useful for the likes of me who can get lost leaving the flat – True turn-by-turn navigation would be a total bonus!
There are also rumours about speech-to-text with foreign-language and handwriting support being improved.
Funnily enough, on May 17th Nokia has a special announcement – you thinking what I’m thinking? A NokWinPho 7 party?
Don’t miss any of the event – I’ll be tweeting from @GadgetyNewscom as well as updating the GadgetyNews Facebook page 😉
