Archos Citee Connect Android scooter – MWC 2018
Archos, to me, is a brand associated with smartphones and tablets. Well, it appears that they have diversified. At MWC 2018 next week, they shall be showing off their Android-powered Citee scooters.
I shall be attending my very first Mobile World Congress this year. So, as part of my due diligence, I’ve been snooping around the net to see what I should check out.
I had to check twice when I saw the Archos logo next to a scooter.
Archos Citee
By all accounts it looks like the French tech manufacturer dipped its toes in to the electric scooter pool last year. Moreover, it continues to do so and is bringing in Android to the mix this year.
The Citee range
The Citee scooters will make their debut at MWC 2018.
Firstly, the Citee and Citee Power look to be your normal electric scooters. They boast maximum speeds of up to 25kph and fold away easily.
Next is the flagship Citee Connect.
This scooter matches its lesser siblings but then adds an entry-level Android smartphone.
Furthermore, this apparently gives bragging rights to it being “the first Google Android scooter.”

Additionally, it is equipped with 8.5-inch wheels wrapped in puncher-proof rubber, a 350W motor and regenerative brakes.
Also, the battery has the legs to run for between 25km and 30km.
The centre console is loaded with a five-inch display showing off Android Oreo.
The device is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and has 8GB of storage with access to 3G connectivity. I can only assume this is for navigating the streets and receiving messages, not watching YouTube videos.
Price and availability
Citee and Citee Power will start at €399.99 and go on sale from April.
The Citee Connect will cost €499.99 and sell from the summer.
