SWaP Rebel Watch is a Phone – Keep Your Strap-on iPod Nano!
Now, it seems that everyone is trying to get in on the act converting Apple’s iPod nano into a watch.
Sony Ericsson’s LiveView wants to help you check you calls and updates without having to get your phone out of your pocket.
Then something reminded me of the clever little sWaP Rebel, one of the many wristphones I had a hands-on with back in April.
This groovy watch phone from UK-based sWaP (Smart Watch and Phone) is a quad-band GSM phone that features a 1.46-inch colour touchscreen (can be used with a stylus if you have fuller figured fingers) and a built-in camera that can snap stills and record video!
The smarts don’t stop there either – no sireeee!
As well as it sporting an FM radio tuner and Bluetooth for hooking up your headset; the retro-tastic silicone strap conceals a USB port so that slinging your MP3s and MP4 video to its 2GB memory a cinch. Worry ye not about that tiny storage – you can up that thanks to a microSD slot 😉
All of that costs £189 and it’s available in a range of colours – when you compare that to an iPod Nano and an aftermarket strap……. it looks pretty darned good doesn’t it?
If you want something more manly and have more of a budget – check out the sWaP Signature 🙂
