Denon Envaya waterproof desktop speakers refreshed
Denon has refreshed its Envaya range of wireless Bluetooth speakers for 2017.
The new range of Denon Envaya speakers welcomes three models to the family: Envaya and Envaya Mini, which are long-running models, and a new Envaya Pocket.
Denon has gone back to the drawing board when designing these speakers. The result is a more striking and contemporay appearance.
All three speakers exhibit the same look, complete with the new cloth grille.
Denon Envaya specs
The three speakers share many of the same features with each other.
These kick off with a 30 metre Bluetooth range, and aptX Bluetooth to ensure you get the highest possible sound quality from compatible devices.
Additionally, they hold an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning they can be submerged in a metre of water for up to 30 minutes. A handy thing once the weather warms up once again and you want to enjoy tunes poolside.
Up to eight mobile devices can be connected to any of the Envaya speakers at one time. Also, you can wirelessly connect two speakers together to create a stereo pair.
All three models are compatible with Siri for controlling various features with your voice at the press of a button.
Battery life is rated at between 10-12 hours depending on the speaker you choose and how hard you push it. Finally, all have a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting other sources.
Little differences
The Envaya is the flagship of the range and Denon says it offers the best performance of the family and can happily be used both inside and outside the home.
The Envaya Mini is ideal for taking on holiday and, rounding up the range, the Envaya Pocket is the baby.
Each model has respectable power for speakers of this type. Envaya is driven by two channels of 13 watts each, the Mini by 2 x 8.5w and the Pocket by 2 x 6.5w.
Price and availability
They come with handy carry straps in either grey or black finishes, and are available now. The Envaya Pocket will cost £90, the Envaya Mini £130 and the Envaya £170.
