TankBot the STEM-friendly tracked robot kit
UBTECH Robotics, the company that created the cutting-edge Alpha Series of humanoid robots, has just introduced TankBot.
TankBot is the latest addition to UBTECH’s line of STEM-friendly Jimu Robots aimed at kids and teens.
This is the first Jimu Robot to run on tank treads. This naturally hands it unprecedented mobility.
As well as its go-anywhere skills it also features an infrared sensor that allows it to follow commands to detect, pick up or manoeuvre around objects.
TankBot is an interactive building block system that combines learning and fun as kids build, program and share their robot creations.

TankBot kit
The Jimu Robot kit has all the parts, connectors and servo motors needed to build TankBot – or your own invention.
The kit includes the Jimu Robot app with step-by-step 3D instructions. These include zoom and 360 degree views to make building the robot easy.
Once built, the app features pre-programmed actions with Blockly coding. You can also program your own actions to make TankBot do almost anything.
An in-app joystick remote lets you control your tracked robot on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, if that’s more your thing.
Additionally, the app connects users to the global Jimu community. This allows you to share your creation or programming with Jimu Robot lovers around the world.
