Your knowledge of the components in the Goldmund Metis Mk 2 appears to be better than mine. If you are able to undercut the company by such a high margin and match their audio quality (although not sure how you are with matching their propriety systems as mentioned in the review) then I think you could well be on to a winner and surely a very comfortable lifestyle even at less than the suggested mark-up you accuse Goldmund of having. Apparently, the Velcro was used purposely for decoupling according to my contact. I look forward to being given the chance to review your competing speakers in the near future.

Those speakers are $18,000 for a pair? Really? You didn’t put the decimal place in the wrong spot? The enclosures would be worth $400 (maybe more for paint), the drivers are Peerless, made in India. The woofer has a steel frame and would retail for about $50 US – that’s at retail, not wholesale which would be cheaper again. Then you have a DAC with WIFI capabilities and presumably a class-D built in amplifier – so is that where the other $17,000 comes into play? I struggle to see the value in this.Of course I haven’t heard it but really, how good could a pair of speakers with budget drivers that have low power handling, short throw and high distortion be?
Oh, and it has velcro holding the covers on. I can only imagine how expensive it would be it they’d managed to work out that they could embed magnets in the front of the baffle and corresponding ones in the grill frame. That technological breakthrough would have pushed the price of this pair of speakers into the stratosphere……………
