Optoma NuForce BE Free8 totally wireless earphones hit UK

We have been impressed by the NuForce products from Optoma so far. Today we have been told about the company’s first ever pair of completely wireless in-ear headphones, the NuForce BE Free8.

There have been a few totally wireless in-ears tested here at GadgetyNews such as the VerveOnes+ and Elyxr True Wireless. We’ve even got a set from SOUNDPeats on their way. However, this form of earbud is still a relatively new concept.

Optoma has now thrown its hat in the ring and they’re quite excited about their BE Free8.

First things first. These, as you’d expect, are totally wire-free.

The BE Free8 are a pair of individual ear pieces that comes bundled with a carry case that doubles up as a charger.

Connectivity

Connection to the headphones is via Bluetooth. However, the earpieces chat to each other via Near-Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI). This ensures they sync up accurately and deliver a reliable connection.

This does sounds a better and more reliable solution than the usual Bluetooth method used by others, to me.

Quality

Higher quality AAC and aptX audio codecs are supported. So, if your device is compatible, you will be enjoying the very best possible sound quality piped into your ears.

The BE Free8 also use Optoma’s proprietary NuForce sonic coating which promises a “lightning-fast transient response and ultra-low distortion.” Hmmmm… OK.

Stamina

Optoma says that the BE Free8 can go all day thanks to the combination of built-in battery and the charging carry case.

The headphones themselves last around four hours on a single charge. But, thanks to the carry case possessing powerbank skills, you get an extra three full charges.

That means, using my rudimentary maths, total playback time should be up to 16 hours.

Additionally, they can be used to make and receive hands-free calls too. This is by way of a built-in noise-cancelling microphone. You also get a button to play/pause music, skip tracks and enable Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa and Cortana.

Optoma has designed the NuForce BE Free8 so that they can be used in any situation.

Not only are they built from a lightweight combination of metal and polycarbonate, but they have an IPX5 weather-resistant rating. Yup, the BE Free8 will happily put up with rain and sweat, meaning they can be used in the gym or outdoors exercising.

Price and availability

The Optoma NuForce BE Free8 wireless in-ear headphones will be available in the next few weeks for a penny short of £200.
